SATURDAY JUNE 4th
LA/NY trio BRAEVES began with childhood best friends Ryan Colt Levy and Derek Tramont, who’ve been together before the dawn of social media. Having experimented with a wide range styles and sounds over the years, it wasn't until the addition of Thomas Killian McPhillips VII in late 2012 that things fell into place and BRAEVES was born. From there the music grew organically into their own unique blend of soulful Indie Rock and Pop that it is today, reminiscent of bands such as Local Natives, The Shins and Grizzly Bear alike. They have recorded a new single entitled “Bitter Sea” with Dave Trumfio (Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Snowmine) and Raymond Richards (Local Natives) that will be released by the end of May.
FOXTRAX have an ability to produce a contemporary catchy chorus and haunting hook, all the while staying true to an authentic 60’s soul style, bluesy sound. This is evident throughout ‘The Cabin’ EP, in which emotive lyrics, intricate instrumentals and pop-anthem style choruses allow FOXTRAX to effortlessly and effectively weave between genres.
The trio is really stirring up a buzz within the industry; DJ Mark Goodman of Sirius XM’s “The Spectrum,” became a fan and avid supporter after seeing the band live, enthusiastically requesting to play ‘The Cabin’s’ songs on-air and subsequently telling his listeners right from the start, “I love this band!”
Emotional Post-Hardcore from San Diego, California.
